Every year we celebrate a wide variety of events for both 4-H members and the general public with a focus on being educational, community driven, and fun for all who attend. New events are always being added so be sure to check back regularly or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to see which events are being added.

4-H members in grades 6-8 are invited to attend this leadership conference. You will have fun, meet new friends and develop leadership and personal development skills that you can utilize in school, in your 4-H club, and in your community.

Join the Somerset County 4-H Association for the annual Holiday Craft Festival. The free two day event will be filled with holiday cheer, including artists, vendors, and a gingerbread contest. There will also be an opportunity for photos with Santa!

The annual Somerset County 4-H Association Holiday Dinner is returning this year with an emphasis on safety and community health. Due to the limitations of COVID-19, we are inviting you to a delicious take-out only lasagna dinner at no cost.
Open to Public • All Ages
New Jersey 4‑H is recruiting a team of high school students to participate in the World Food Prize Research Project. Youth members will work with a team to develop individual research projects addressing global food security issues. Participants will meet once a week with mentors and peers to prepare their research project.
Join Rutgers oceanographer Oscar Schofield as he chats with researchers aboard the Nathaniel B. Palmer as they study the marine ecosystems of the West Antarctic Peninsula. Learn how the Antarctic Peninsula has changed over the past several decades and how these changes affect life at every level of the food web, from tiny crustaceans to penguins, seals and whales.
Open to pre-K through grade 12. The theme is “The 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier: Rise and Shine for Duty, Honor, and Patriotism.” Contest categories are 1) Poster; 2) Stamp Design; 3) Photo Essay; 4) Banner; 5) Poem; 6) Short Story; 7) Community Service, individual or group entry, does not need to reflect theme.
This new contest is open to students in grades 9 to 12. Select a figure from the era of the American Revolution (1773-1783) and discuss how he or she influenced events. Figures may be well-known or an everyday man, woman or child who supported the American Revolution in ways large or small.

Open to students in grades 5 to 8. The theme is the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Students are asked to imagine that they attended the November 11, 1921, dedication of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C., and describe what it meant to them and their family.
New Jersey 4-H Teens are invited to join the Monmouth County 4-H Teen Council for the Magic of Mindfulness! One hour of mindful breathing, chair yoga poses, and other techniques to help us focus and relax presented by Laura Eppinger.
This two day event will be filled with holiday cheer including a very special visit from Santa Claus with his Red Santa Sleigh which is great for photo opportunities, a gingerbread house contest that is open for all to participate in, a running train display by the Somerset County 4-H Trainmasters, as well as plenty of handmade craft vendors and local artisans to help you with your holiday stocking stuffers!
The gingerbread contest is open to all Somerset County 4-H members, as well as the general public of all age groups. Participants are allowed to make a gingerbread house or display their favorite gingerbread art such as a ceramic house, teapot, cookie jar, ornament or other decorative item.
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is National 4-H Council’s premier leadership and civic engagement experience held each summer in the Washington, DC area. It is a week-long event (Sunday - Friday) for 4-H members in grades 9-12 (14-19 years old). The program is based on the principle that democracy requires skills and strategies that must be learned and practiced and it teaches participants to be active, responsible citizens and leaders.
Application Due: December 10, 2021
In Fall 2021, a team of youth (at least 2 youth) and an adult 4-H volunteer project leader select a global issue, prepare a written design, and register for the 4-H Shark Tank by December 10. Selected teams will receive up to $2,000 to build and test their prototype in Winter & Spring 2022. At the event, youth will display all day to the public and then have a dedicated 10 minutes to exhibit their working solution/invention to the expert panel.
