What is 4-H Science-sational Day?

4-H Science-sational Day is a day of interactive science workshops for children in grades K-6 presented by the Somerset County 4-H Youth Development Program. Using a “Learn By Doing” approach, youth engage in hands-on activities to learn about a variety of science topics.

For 2026, youth will explore biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, technology, and more. Possible activities include roller coaster design challenges, robotics and AI, DNA molecular matching, salt paintings, the science behind magic, catapults, and archery. Workshop offerings vary by age group, and participants will be assigned age-appropriate sessions throughout the day.
