Somerset County 4-H is proud to congratulate the recipients of the Citizenship Award, as well as those who earned Project Medals. In order to be eligible for the citizenship award, youth members must become aware of their relationship to others; family, peers, state, nation, and world. Acquire life skills that are essential for an individual to become an active, responsible citizen. Demonstrate social responsibility. Learn to respect and respond to the needs, rights and responsibilities of others. Contribute to community development. Gain insights into the principles, processes and structures of democracy. Learn how issues affect the people of the world; affect us as a nation, and how the individual can become involved in addressing those issues.

Dale Brochinsky

Dale was co-chair of NJTC 2020 planning committee. While the conference didn’t happen due to pandemic, Dale was able to successfully guide and lead the committee. Dale is also a teen member on the SC4H Association and helps run the monthly Virtual Teen Socials.

Project medals

Alyssa Flood

Alyssa won the Master Chef Challenge contest in 2019 and was leading the pack in 2020. She (and her partner) worked very well with a difficult last-minute addition to her team in the 2020 Cupcake Wars and finished third. Throughout the course of the projects we worked on during the year, she always made a great quality item.

Cassie Burnett

Cassie has always been an active member who has always taken her project animals seriously. In 2019 we have seen her step up begin to be an example to other members especially the newer members. Whether she is striving to excel in the training of her 2 puppies, or putting that aside to help and encouraging the younger members Cassie is a member who deserves to be exemplified
