Hello Everyone,
We celebrated our outstanding members, volunteers and alumni along with our scholarship recipients. Congratulations to all! To all of our amazing 4-H Fair volunteers: thank you for your time, energy, and dedication. We are celebrating 78 years of Somerset County 4-H . The Fair wouldn’t be possible without your support and commitment to our youth. Every task you take on helps create a positive experience and gives 4-H members the opportunity to grow, celebrate their hard work, and make lasting memories. Thank you for being such an important part of the 4-H community!
As we head into Fair, I want to wish every one of our 4-H members the very best of luck. Somerset County 4-H Fair is about so much more than ribbons and awards, it's a celebration of the time, effort, and heart you've poured into your projects. Each early morning, late night, challenge, and accomplishment has helped you grow. No matter what, remember that you have already made your club, your family, and your community proud. Cheer each other on, lend a helping hand, and enjoy the memories you'll make together. Thank you for representing the true spirit of 4-H with hard work, kindness, and integrity. Good luck to everyone, and have an amazing fair. You've earned this moment!
Future Fair dates approved: 2027 - Aug. 11-13; 2028 – Aug 9 – 11; 2029 - Aug. 8 – 10

Tent Superintendent packets will be distributed the week before the Fair.
Sponsorships total $18,767.
Food Tent: one new vendor under discussion; booths will follow the 250th anniversary theme (no balloons); volunteers needed Aug. 4 for setup of the food tent.

Hello everyone,
I’m Tina Pirro, President of the Somerset County 4-H Association. Our mission is to support Somerset County 4-H youth and the 4-H Youth Development Program through events, facilities, volunteer efforts, and financial support.
Association meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except August and December) at the 4-H Center and are open to all volunteers, leaders, parents, and supporters. To improve communication and transparency, I will share a brief update after each meeting.
June Meeting Highlights
Financial Sustainability
Thanks to strong donations, sponsorships, and interest income, revenue is currently ahead of budget. However, an operating deficit is still projected for 2026, and the Association continues to explore long-term solutions while maintaining quality programs and facilities.
County Fair Planning
Planning for the Somerset County 4-H Fair is nearly complete. Current projects include finalizing tent layouts. Our goal is another successful fair within budget.
Volunteers Needed
The Fair still needs volunteers for the Information Tent, Milkshake Booth, exhibit judging, and general operations. Please watch the weekly email for sign-up opportunities.
America 250 Celebration
The 2026 Fair will include special activities celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary, featuring themed exhibits, historical demonstrations, colonial games, DAR-sponsored awards, and patriotic ceremonies.
