On Wednesday April 3rd and Thursday April 4th (9:00am-4:30pm) Somerset County 4-H will be presenting Ag-Venture Day Takes on Spring Break!
Youth will work together with skilled volunteers to create a better awareness of agriculture sustainability in our community to allow for positive environmental change. These youth participants will gain knowledge and experience in agriculture through a hands-on educational programing on the farm and a hands-on educational workshop in a classroom setting (Located at the 4-H center). Youth participants will learn how to become better stewards of the land as it relates to agriculture supply chain management.
This includes:
a. Food production
b. Farm to table process
c. Benefits/importance of supporting local farmers
d. Exploring animal health as it relates to farming
Youth Participants will also be presented with the opportunity to
a. Gain leadership opportunity
b. Develop a greater understanding of agriculture
c. Recognize the accomplishments of local Farmers
d. Become aware of viability/sustainability in agriculture
e. Promote interest in the Agriculture Industry
