Somerset County 4-H is proud to spotlight these incredible leaders in our community. Ranging across three different scholarships and with over $4,000 gifted to students, we are incredibly proud to showcase those who were selected for each scholarship.


Scholarship Recipients

  • Alec Doyle - bridgewater, nj

    Somerset County 4-H Association Scholarship, Trainmasters Scholarship

    Alex has been in 4-H for 13 years with membership in robotics, legos, video game programming, and cardboard gamers. He has helped in numerous Association events and will be attending Rutgers University studying computer science.


  • ashima taneja - bridgewater, nj

    Somerset County 4-H Association Scholarship, Trainmasters Scholarship

    Ashima has been a 4-H member for 8 years with membership in the Robotics club as a member and teen leader. She is also a teen member of Association, on the Fair App committee, and was a TOPS camp counselor. She will be attending Georgia Tech studying computer science.


  • owen gavigan - Hillsborough, nj

    Somerset County 4-H Association Scholarship, PREP Scholarship

    Owen has been in 4-H for 13 years and has been a member and teen leader in the dog project and Senior Council. He will be attending William Patterson University to study voice performance and sound engineering.


  • eliza rothenburger - neshanic station, nj

    Somerset County 4-H Association Scholarship, Trainmasters Scholarship, PREP Scholarship

    Eliza has been in 4-H for 13 years exploring diverse interests including crafts, cooking, sewing, small animals, alpacas, archery, and double dutch jump rope. She has been on the NJTC planning committee and the National Congress leadership team. She will be studying Wildlife Conservation at Virginia Tech.


  • katie scheflen - Hillsborough, nj

    Somerset County 4-H Association Scholarship, Trainmasters Scholarship

    Katie has been a 4-H member for 10 years now focusing on Beef and Dairy science. She has helped at many 4-H Association and Dairy events and will be attending Iowa State University in the fall to study animal science, genetics, and genomics.
