Somerset County 4-H is proud of our very own Teresa Sushko and Ella Ziolkowski for placing first in the New Jersey 4-H 2021 Cupcake Wars.
Focused on teamwork and creativity, the Cupcake Wars is a baking competition open to all 4-H members throughout the state of New Jersey in which members have their cupcakes judged based on appearance, flavor, and creativity.
Hosted by Somerset County 4-H volunteer Harry Brochinsky, the three judges involved were Amy Frank, Jennifer Korneski, and her daughter Nicole Korneski.
All sixteen participants across seven teams teams earned a blue ribbon for excellent performance due to their hard work, strong effort, and focused teamwork!
The first place cupcake titled, “Winter Wonderland Cupcake” featured a peppermint cake with chocolate ganache filling topped with vanilla frosting and a white chocolate Christmas tree.
In addition to winning first place, the Blue Sheep Bake Shop in Somerville, NJ will be baking the winning cupcake’s recipe during the Spring of 2022 where proceeds from the sale of the cupcake will be donated back to the 4-H program.
